Nokia Smartphones will Receive Android Oreo by the end of 2017
The expectation for the announcement of a new version of Android is always very big and once it happens, everyone wants to receive if and when their smartphone will be updated. It was no different this time with Android Oreo, which for now is running only on the devices of the line Pixel, Google itself.
Now, after Motorola and Sony have already confirmed the list of gadgets that will be updated, it is time for HMD to ensure that Nokia smartphones will receive Android Oreo by the end of 2017.
The information was confirmed by the HMD Director General for Australia and New Zealand Mark Trundle in an interview with GadgetGaul this week. According to the executive, the company is working to upgrade, the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 by the end of this year.
The three mid-range specs were originally released with factory-installed Android 7.1.1 and have drawn attention to bringing very few changes to its interface. In other words, the models present the user with a clean and fairly close experience of pure Android.
In a Twitter posting, HMD's chief production executive Juho Sarvikas complemented his co-worker and said Nokia 8 is also on the list to host Android Oreo by the end of 2017.
The executives did not comment when exactly the HMD intends to release the update, nor did they comment any further on the matter. So, from now on, all we have to do is wait.
