Launcher brings Android Oreo features to legacy phones
It has been almost a year since Google launched Pixel, and along with it the launcher of Pixel, which is available on Google Play, but to this day it is restricted to the company's latest cell phone. This leaves a part of the public frustrated, since it can not enjoy the resources.
The Pixel Launcher APK is even available on multiple sites, but it still can not take advantage of all the features. This is where the Modified Pixel Launcher, an open source project created by a developer community that brings all the functions of the Pixel Launcher to other phones, comes in and still provides access to some Android Oreo features for devices that have not yet received the version.
Originally, the application brought some remarkable features of the Pixel Launcher that were blocked on other devices and were only accessible with root. This includes integration with the Google Now dashboard, the weather widget, finger sliding anywhere to pull the drawer app (app drawer), and animation of the "G" pill in the upper corner left.
Now, version 2.1 of the system is dedicated to bringing the features of Android Oreo, including integration with notification points and support for round icons in earlier versions of the system.
The only way to download the application to the mobile is to download it from GitHub, where the community discusses and maintains the app updates. Because it uses restricted resources, it can not be distributed through Google Play, which forces interested parties to look for other distribution methods. The latest version is available for download at this link (the download will start automatically).
