Get to know the New Emojis that were released with Android Oreo
The latest version of Android, called Oreo , does not bring a ton of new stuff to the mobile operating system, but it adds something very dear to the hearts of smartphone users: emojis .
Google ended up with its blob-style smileys in favor of more traditional looking icons. And emojis are far more recognizable when compared to their counterparts on other platforms, including iOS.
The new emoji design was announced at I / O, Google's annual developer conference, which gave them time to forget the blobs, even though some fans of the pictograms still suffer from the end.
The intentions for the redesign go through Google's attempt to unify the style for a library that has grown immensely in recent years and to better represent the diversity and inclusiveness among its emoji sets.
Improve communication
One of the stated goals of this review has also been to improve cross-platform communication. Strange as it may seem to old phone users, from the time people used to communicate using voice and text, emoji are often used to convey real meaning.
Google seeks to avoid a lack of communication with the help of the emoji . For this, the company seeks assurances that the new set is as consistent as possible when used in its platforms. The old blobs often seemed to mean things different from their iOS equivalents.
Android Oreo includes 69 new emojis , included in the Unicode 10 set. These are focused on better representation of people and genres, as well as some fun characters from fantasy and science fiction, plus the popular "head blast". In total, emoji redesign adds up to 2,000 icons.
