Sony confirms list of Smartphones that will Receive Android 8.0 Oreo

With the arrival of a new version of the Android operating system, the eyes always turn to manufacturers, with users wondering when and if they can receive the update on the devices they carry in their pocket. Sony responded to this question during IFA 2017, a technology event taking place in Berlin, Germany, with good news.

The brand's relationship brings a lot of the devices released in the last two years, with all high-end handsets being fully capable of running Android 8, also known as Oreo. Meanwhile, the models that were announced at the show will reach the shelves already updated with the latest edition of the operating system.
Check the complete list:
  • Xperia X
  • Xperia X Performance
  • Xperia XZ
  • Xperia X Compact
  • Xperia XZ Premium
  • Xperia XZ
  • Xperia XA1
  • Xperia XA1 Ultra
  • Xperia XA1 Plus
  • Xperia Touch
  • Xperia XZ1

Even though they can breathe a sigh of relief, the users of the models do not know much more. Sony has not revealed what Android 8 features will be adopted in its proprietary interface, nor what kind of new software will bring with this update. Additionally, a release release forecast was also not released.
In addition to the traditional promises of battery improvement and performance, even on smartphones with more modest configurations, Android Oreo brings changes to the central notification and icon standardization. In addition, the platform will have an integrated malware scanner, password manager and multi-screen support APIs, or the Picture in Picture option, allowing you to watch YouTube videos in the corner of the display while other tasks are performed.
